Zarnishan Yusif, a modern artist based in Baku, has won numerous art honors in Azerbaijan, particularly the first-place award for emerging talent from the Museum Center in Baku in 2012. Spain, Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, China, India, Austria, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Russia are just a few of the countries where she has displayed her paintings and engaged in festivals. Her artwork was featured in the 'Fly to Baku' traveling exhibition of Azerbaijani modern art, which traveled to European countries from 2012 to 2014. Zarnishan has had two solo exhibits in Baku, namely 'Money, Money, Money’ at Q Gallery in 2018 and 'Old Baku' at ATV Gallery in 2016. In these solo exhibits, she showed layered pieces that combined painting and vintage paper. Inset with old vintage portraits of people wearing traditional Azerbaijani garments, old book pages, and ancient postcards, she produced a collection of atmospheric painted pieces in shades of blue, ochre, red, and green imaged with designs of cloth, carpet motifs.

She criticized digital platforms and VR technology as a corrosive environment in interpersonal behavior and community life in her 2019 piece to the Azerbaijan National Pavilion at the Venice Biennale, 'Bubble Reflection.' Clear Plexiglas-styled human forms were implanted with the shape of computer chips and wiring to create the comprehensive piece. When observed from the side, a series of mirrored spheres dangled in the center of the frame of persons, implying the ubiquitous 'group-think' so widespread in the growing fake worldwide reality and people's penchant for empty lifestyles displayed via social media. By doing so, she hopes to demonstrate how technological comforts are transforming society by eroding uniqueness, and how awareness of this outcome of modern life can contribute to counteracting the impacts.
