From the age of 5, Gunay was engaged in painting in the Children's Art Gallery named after Tofig Ismayilov. In 2012-2016, she studied art studies at the Azerbaijan State Art Academy. In 2016-2019, Baylarova continued her studies in easel painting at the fine arts faculty of the Azerbaijan State Academy of Art and completed her Master's degree in that faculty in 2019-2021. At the moment, Gunay gives preparatory lessons in easel painting to foreign students at the Azerbaijan State Art Academy. She participated many times in international exhibitions held in Azerbaijan and abroad (England, USA, Turkey, Poland, Japan, Italy, Belgium, etc.). The artist is a participant of the "Love Park" project organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, "Nasimi", "Gizgalasi", "Live life" festivals. In 2021, she participated in the "Khari-bulbul" International Music Festival in Shusha and the "Painting of memory" art symposium in Aghdam.
Baylarova prefers to work in mixed media on canvas, especially oil paints, acrylics and sprays, and likes to synthesize abstract and figurative art.
