Jahangir Salimkhanov is an art researcher, a member of the European Cultural Parliament, the chairman of the "Open Society FS- Azerbaijan" Institute's Culture and Art Program, and the inventor of numerous cultural projects in Baku and overseas. Salimkhanov is also employed as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage National Expert and Head of International Relations Department at the Azerbaijan National Conservatoire, member of European Cultural Parliament, Judging Panel member of EMYA - European Museum of the Year Award.

He works as a curator, facilitator, and promoter of artistic projects across various segments of the cultural domain. Lecturer, panelist, speaker, and presenter at the festivals, conferences, symposia, and other cultural events in Azerbaijan and abroad - from Abu Dhabi to Vancouver and Oslo to Bangkok.

Since 2018, he has managed the Nasimi Festival, a multidisciplinary, international event conducted yearly in Baku. For almost three decades, he has taught classes in Azerbaijani, English, and Russian on various topics ranging from modern music to cultural policy to the creative process.
