After enrolling in Academic Drawing and Painting programs in 2000, Orkhan's professional life began to take direction. After purchasing his first camera in 2007 and meeting Iwan Baan in 2010, his interest in the arts grew into a lifelong passion: photography. He completed a master of arts in architecture at the University of Lisbon (Portugal) while also enrolling in a year-long Analogue Photography program at the Faculty of Fine Arts. COAST - the course's final piece, which was greatly influenced by Stephen Shore, resulted in a group show at the Municipal Archive of Photography. The cinematographer is also known for his works including “A son named Erasmus”, “Lovely, Dark, and Deep” and “Praxx”.

Orkhan has been a photographer since 2015. He was exposed to the world of cinema in 2017 after realizing the inextricability of Still Photography and Motion Photography. In 2019, he got the opportunity to work on the set of the American feature film "Color Out of Space," starring Nicolas Cage and Joely Richardson, after working for 5 years as a digital imaging technician on several advertisements.

Orkhan started his career as a Director of Photography in 2020. In 2021, he was requested to work as a filmmaker in South Caucasus on Rena Effendi's documentary film.
