Education:
2009: Theater, Bates College


After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Theater from Bates College in the United States in 2009, he pursued his study at Moscow's Higher Courses for Screenwriters and Directors. Rufat was employed as a producer of promo content for Vice Media in New York City and Dozhd Television Channel in Moscow. Hasanov was also the co-founder of Coyote Cinema production company.
Rufat Hasanov is a filmmaker who has won numerous awards. He has produced and filmed a number of films, including 'Chameleon,' which received a Golden Leopard nomination at the 66th Locarno Film Festival, and 'The Island Within,' for which he was awarded the 'Best Director Award at the 26th Sarajevo Film Festival. Hasanov is also the current Chairman of the Cinema Department of the Republic of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Culture.
