Tural Rahmanli’s photography and films explore the abstract concepts of alienation and connection. He is an Azerbaijan photographer who focuses on the human aspects of political, social and cultural issues. His investigation of the ties that bind one person to another draws on his own deeply divided Sumgait-based experience, as he explores the contrasting themes of hope and darkness, restriction and freedom.
He came to Istanbul for university in 2011 and started to be interested in photography in 2013 during his study period. Tural has made photography a lifelong project, and he plans to shoot every day for the rest of his life. His work focuses on street photography and documentary.
In 2016, he became a member of the Turkuaz Street Collective. Rahmanli is the author of such projects as “East”, “Metro”, “Charshi”, “Istanblues”, “Ukraine”
